This weeks " Places around town" Has focused on Fright Fest in St. Louis.
I took my family to Fright night last Friday. It was the first night that it opened so I expected it to be crowded, but not like this.
Six Flags did a great job of transforming the amusement park into a Hauntingly great adventure, however they did fall short on some aspects.
The lines for the rides were each 1 + hour wait. This means that your kids will only be able to ride 3 to 4 rides while there because the event goes from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.
There are 3 different haunted houses in the park . You must buy additional tickets to enter these attractions, HOWEVER, when we were there, they did not TAKE our tickets when we entered, so they lost out on a great deal of revenue because people were handing out thier tickets after going thru to the people waitning in line.
The haunted house wait was approximately 90 minutes each.
CAUTION
I do want to warn all parents with small children that there are ghouls and ghosts running all around the park and WILL jump out when you least expect them !!! So if your little ones ( or yourself ) are scared easily, you may want to avoid the park.
While the lines WERE very long, and it took us more than 2 1/2 hours to exit the parking lot at nights end, I must say that I still had a BLAST !!
Riding the BOSS rollercoaster in the dark is a MUST ! ( but you may want to bring a change of underwear).
We were able to ride the BOSS and Batman while we were there and were very satisfied with both. The crowds were semi-calm and the creatures were very realistic.
Overall, if was a good time, but we will not be going back this year again. Once is enough.
If you are interested in visiting the Fright Fest, the hours are : FRI-SAT 6 p.m - 11 p.m.
